Since 2005, the PEP Board of Directors has presented the PEP Environmental Stewardship Awards to recognize PEP members whose work has made a significant and positive contribution to the Gulf Coast region in three crucial areas: economic growth, environmental health, and social responsibility.
Last month we informed our membership and the community of the strong partnership that PEP has with the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program Create a Clean Water Future Movement. PEP is helping promote a comprehensive management plan that attacks pollution at its many sources. The movement raises awareness and informs community members, municipalities and businesses of ways they can create a clean water future.
We are grateful for all of the wonderful PEP Member Environmental Stewardship Award nominations that have been submitted. It will be a challenge for our selection committee members to choose this year’s recipients from such worthy submissions.
2017 is proving to be a productive year. PEP was a proud partnering organization of Mobile United’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Together, with PEP member companies and partnering organizations, 300 Mobilians came together to
remove 100’s of bags of garbage and more than 175 tires from 3 Mile Creek.

It has been an extremely busy and productive year for PEP. Our Reverse Trade Show experienced record attendance and included a new educational seminar showcasing drones and how to use them in industry. We also enjoyed record attendance at our annual Mayor’s Luncheon as well as our Membership Breakfast, featuring Representative Bradley
Byrne.
We continue to experience great success with our new testimonial style PEP ads that carry the theme ‘Our Gulf Coast Environment Matters to Us.’ In fact, since the ads began running, the testimonial page of the PEP website has been the second most visited page – second only to the Reverse Trade Show event page.
Last month we introduced a series of testimonial PEP ads with the theme ‘Our Gulf Coast Environment Matters to Us.’ With this series of ads, we intend to reinforce our mission and goals, showcase member companies and encourage prospective members to join PEP.
We hope that everyone is enjoying the summer months. It’s often a busy time packed with family vacations and trips to our beautiful beaches and waterways, enjoying all that the Gulf Coast has to offer. We can all certainly be proud of the work that PEP Member organizations do to preserve and enhance the environment and quality of life along the
