Happy New Year! Thank you for making 2019 a great year for PEP. Did you know that 2020 is PEP’s 20th Anniversary? PEP was established in early 2000 by a group of local visionaries. When this group of local small business owners and plant managers formed PEP, they envisioned an organization that promoted business growth while preserving and enhancing our environment and our quality of life along the Gulf Coast.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we want to thank you for your membership and support of Partners for Environmental Progress during 2019. PEP’s activities and success depends on our members’ time, talent and resources. Without you, we cannot achieve PEP’s mission of promoting strong economic development balanced with stewardship of our coastal natural resources that make the Alabama Gulf Coast a unique and desirable place to live and do business. We truly appreciate you.
I would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered, attended and participated in the PEP Industrial Reverse Trade Show. The event was a tremendous success and included a seminar – Transportation & Logistics: Technology is Improving Capacity, Safety and Environmental Impacts.
Our 19th annual Golf Tournament was a phenomenal success. What a great way for us to come together to support PEP’s mission. Thank you to our generous sponsors – especially our title sponsors: Alabama Power, Hancock Whitney Bank, Hargrove Engineers + Constructors and Performance Contractors – this event would not be possible without your support.
Many of you took a stand last month sending emails and letters of opposition to Senate Bill 244 and House Bill 346, which would prohibit cities and counties in Alabama from regulating, restricting or prohibiting the litter of bags, cups, bottles and packaging. Several stakeholders in Mobile opposed both Bills, including the Mobile City Council and Partners for Environemtnal Progress. Please see the letter that PEP sent to State Legislators by clicking here.
This issue of PEP News is full of opportunities for fun in support of a great cause, including the upcoming PEP 19th Annual Golf Tournament, Shred Days at the Mobile Recycling Center, and MORE!
